This article goes out to those starving Americans in Shanghai who just need a taste of America delivered to their door that isn’t McDonalds. For those loosing hope, don’t despair.
Shanghai Pizza Hut Delivery in English
Yes, I have McDonald’s on speed dial. I also now have Pizza Hut on speed dial. No, I am not fat. Yet. However, I am sure that my diet isn’t the greatest. For those of you, like me who need your weekly fix of pizza, I am here to help with these following steps:
1) Check out http://www.4008123123.com/phhsios/index.htm Click on the English tag on the left sidebar to read parts of the website in English. Or, translate using the google translator plugin. Use this website to check out the specials so you can mention them on the phone. My purchase typically goes like this:
Me: “I see a picture on your website that looks like a pizza with some type of meat, some chicken wings, and a bowl of something for 89 RMB. Can you tell me about that?”
See what I am talking about from the picture below.
by finding the special online, you can get a much better deal than if you just do what most foreigners do and just ask for a normal pizza at normal prices.
2) Call Pizza Hut at 4008123123
3) Wait for the prompt to order in English (unless you are smarter than me and can speak in Mandarin)
4) Order your pizza after giving your address
5) Get your pizza 30 minutes later (timing depends on time of day and location of nearest Pizza Hut)
Just a fair warning — Pizza Hut doesn’t deliver to all areas of Shanghai. There are locations that are simply too far away from Pizza hut for them to deliver to you. If so, I’m sorry, you will have to live with McDonalds Delivery in Shanghai. Also, I believe there is a 7 RMB delivery charge (but really, is walking an hour in the cold really worth 7 RMB to you)?

Life saver. I have had just about enough of McD for a lifetime(atleast for now).

When I saw somebody’s comment saying life saver, i had a snicker on my face….but only now after couple of months i realized i have visited this page atleast 5 times so far. Its difficult for a foreigner to live only on bland chinese food. Though I have complaints about the varieties of pizza being offered, it is still a life saver.
