Internship in China

Finding an internship for a student is hard. Throw in finding an internship in another country and you make it doubly (if not quadruply) hard! I went through this process in 2008 (read about my internship in Shanghai here and my tips for finding an internship in China here). For those interested in a simple process of finding an internship in China, I present to you the one and only company that I 100% support in helping you find an internship in China. Also, they offer a $100 discount to any of my readers if you mention the Moving to China Blog during your application. Reach out directly to me using the form below and I will directly connect you with the right people.

Abroad China and Who They Are

  • Website address of http://www.abroadchina.net
  • A Chinese internship placement firm with strong connections with some of the largest international companies in Shanghai or Beijing (I worked for Hitachi)
  • Ability to make your transition to China as seamless as possible — they will take care of your visa, pick you up and drop you off at the airport, supply you with a Chinese phone and number, find housing for you, and connect you with like-minded expats in your city of choice
  • Relevant for undergraduates or MBA students
  • Summer internships or full-time internships are available
  • Can help you find a mandarin language school to complement your studies
  • Allows you to determine what Chinese internship is right for you — you will interview with various companies that fit your interest profile
  • A local staff on call at all times for any problems that arise during your internship
  • Will connect you with a new Chinese internship if you aren’t 100% satisfied with your first placement
  • Provides networking events for to make connections during your time in China
  • Can connect you with former students who went through their program (including me)

Again, I can’t comment on other programs and I believe that there is a lot of misinformation available on the internet. If you decide to pursue a placement company to help you find an internship in Shanghai or Beijing, do so with caution and make sure you understand 100% of what you are getting yourself into. You don’t want to arrive in China and find yourself without an internship once you get here. With this being said, Abroad China is the only Chinese Internship Service company I trust.

One more time — if you’d like to go with Abroad China to secure your internship in China, use the form below to contact me with any questions you might have. If you opt to go with them for your internship, I will get you a $100 discount on their current price for being one of my readers.
